CARE is seeking a Camp Coordination and Camp Management Program Manager (CCCM-PM), who will be based in North East Syria [NES] and will report to the Deputy Director of Programs. He or she will be responsible for establishing, managing and implementing CARE’s camp management programming in NES– programs focused on both the establishment of camp management activities and scaling up activities as needed. Under the guidance of the Deputy Director of Programs, the Program Manager will lead on representation of CARE with relevant program stakeholders in this region, ensuring that CARE’s core values are promoted and procedures are complied with.

CARE places high value on ensuring the specific needs of women, men, boys and girls are met, through a gender sensitive approach that seeks transformative outcomes. Therefore, the CCCM Program Manager will lead the implementation of the protection program strategy to ensure CARE’s intervention is timely, effective and relevant to a range of needs. S/he will manage the protection team, providing training, mentoring and capacity building for CARE staff and potentially for partner agencies as well. S/he will ensure protection and gender is mainstreamed in all programming decisions and activities ensuring close coordination with the Protections Program Manager and team and develop his/her teams’ protection and gender capacity to ensure gender sensitive programming and adherence to protection principles.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Social Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Developmental Studies)

• Certification/training in camp coordination and camp management

• 3-5 years of experience in program management in a humanitarian setting; with at least 1 year experience working with and supporting camp management

• Strong experience in capacity building and training

• Understanding of the key strategies and principles of camp coordination and management.

• A proven record of effective program management, including program and key program support functions
