The incumbent is responsible to the Senior Medical Officer in the Health Centre to which he/she is assigned.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:

•         Verifies patients' eligibility for medical services prior to their admission;

•         Schedules appointments for patients and ensures they are admitted to nursing stations and /or Medical Officer's room in• an orderly manner when necessary; carries out clerical and minor administrative work including, but not limited to, assisting patients, and filing and checking attendance records• and leave applications for the Health Centre's staff;

•         Maintains, updates and completes• patients' health records; arranges and documents patient referrals;

•         Records daily registration and statistical data; compiles statistical and other data for weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annually,• and• yearly reports and other special reports; updates the health database on number of visiting patients as required (per gender, age, clinic, etc.);

•         Maintains reports, correspondences, forms and referrals;

•         Performs such other duties as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of secondary education; Diploma in business and office practice or other related discipline; Basic computer literacy and familiarity with spreadsheets and database programme. A minimum of two years' experience in office work and in handling files and documents; Experience in the use of computers and a good understanding of their use in health applications.

Language

Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

Competencies

Ability to work under pressure and cope with a heavy workload; Good computer skills; Excellent organizational and communication skills; Self-motivated.

Equivalency

When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the concerned Director may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience.

NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.
