For every child, Reports Officer

will support the consolidation, review and editing donor reports, founding proposals and key resource mobilizations products of the Nepal CO. This includes, briefing notes, donor and fundraising proposals, concept notes and donor briefs. Further, develops the resource mobilization strategy and regularly updates its contents based on changes in CO priorities, strategies and personnel in the global, regional and national donor environment and in the approach of particular donors. Works closely with Programme Sections, the Reports Officer ensures that all section chiefs and their staff are aware of donor reporting templates, expected content, quality standards and deadlines. Performs quality control on all donor reports to make sure that they meet the donors’ expectations. The key result is to ensure adequate resources for UNICEF Nepal and sustainability in support of its mission.

How can you make a difference?

  1. Ensure timeliness and quality donor reporting. This includes gathering of information, consolidation, editing, layout and branding of all required reports on contributions to Nepal. In reviewing the reports ensure compliance with donor requirements, quality of data and systematic-results based reporting. Including donor report feedback form in all donor reports sent and review donor reports checklist.

  2. Develop, maintain and implement the strategic and annual work plans for resource mobilization, consistent with the overall CPD and budget;

  3. Work closely with programme staff to facilitate timely preparation of and contribute written inputs for funding proposals, donor reports, human interest stories, NatCom toolkit updates, other resource mobilization and leveraging tools; strongly grounded in experience and insights of UNICEF-supported programmes

  4. Provide analysis of current environment and trends and formulate recommendations for RM strategy approaches and proposal development; contributes to the development of new resource mobilization practices and approaches by formulating recommendations for action based on on-going monitoring, analyzing current trends within designated donors and formulating recommendations for strategy approaches and proposal development.
  5. Develop and maintain deep knowledge and familiarity with current/existing and prospective donors, contributing to a database of key contacts and to UNICEF’s base of knowledge on resource mobilization, esp. regional development institutions, foundations, the private sector, international financial institutions and/or relevant constituencies.

  6. Facilitate the office to explore options for resource mobilization, and to identify and scale up successful approaches;

  7. Acts as focal point for identification and pursuit of opportunities for outreach, donor engagement, including on how to anticipate and respond to donors’ concerns and priorities, ensure that UNICEF’s interests, perspectives, and knowledge are taken into account, and ensure donors are fully aware of UNICEF’s perspectives, policies, priorities and capabilities.

  8. Organizes data and information, prepares and maintains records, documents and control plans for the monitoring of actual and potential donors, proposals and reports

  9. Provide technical inputs to the design and maintenance of joint UN resource mobilization approaches and tools

  10. In collaboration with Communication Unit, develop advocacy and informational materials for resource mobilization for both traditional and non-traditional partners
  11. Contribute to the organization of donor field visits and participate in all activities regarding the country programme planning and monitoring and promotion of child rights

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A university degree in either social sciences, communication and/or public relations.

  • Two years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and/or international levels in fundraising and/or public relations, or relevant related field(s) is required.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local language an asset.
