The Field Officers will spend most of their time in the field conducting home visits and awareness sessions to support marginalized families and working closely with the community.
About the job
The individual will report directly to Senior Field Officer. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Activities
• Day-to-day outreach activities and conducting android-based vulnerability assessments (VAF) for displaced Syrians and vulnerable Jordanians.
• Awareness raising and provision of accurate information on rights and access to key services available in the community to refugees and host community.
• Conduct follow-up activities (calls and visits) on cases.
• Support in the identification of vulnerable families through home visits, awareness sessions and other mechanisms for the protection monitoring project.
• Support case managers in the follow-up on all protection and documentation cases on a regular basis.
• Input accurate and complete data for all assessed households on an on-line database system.
• Ensure a strict adherence to the principles of confidentiality and always acting in the best interests of the beneficiaries.
• Monitor and conduct key informant interviews and facilitate focus group discussions with members of refugee and host communities and documenting results.
• Prepare weekly field monitoring reports and feed into monthly, progress and other reports, as required by the line manager.
• Work together to monitor the overall situation of conflict affected families in the community and monitor trends in protection issues.
• Inform the direct supervisor about any challenges, difficulties and concerns in the implementation of activities or issues in the social context.
• Comply with DRC policies and practices with respect to code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
• In agreement with line manager, perform other required duties within reason (in line with skills and experience).
• Communicate, collaborate, share information and ensure a transparent, efficient and accurate flow of information with the Senior Field Officer, other Field Officers, case managers and the rest of the field base team members.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have a Minimum one 1 year experience working directly with refugee populations.
Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required / Desirable
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and experience in community development.
• Knowledge of community resources and counseling/social work practices with refugee population.
• Experience working in a humanitarian operation at field level and on protection and documentation projects.
• Knowledge of needs, services and challenges related to refugee protection in Jordan.
• Social work experience.
• Knowledge of documentation challenges facing refugees is an asset
• Native Arabic speaker and writer
• Professional level in English

We offer
Contract length: 6 month contract including three months as probation period, renewable based on both funding and performance.
