We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the WFP Ethics Office. The position will be based at WFP Headquarters in Rome, Italy. The Internship will be for a period of 6 months starting from 1st March 2018.
Key outputs/Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the Ethics Director, the intern will perform a wide variety of assignments including, but not limited, to the following:
Online
- Assist in updating and maintaining the WFPgo Ethics Office website;
- Assist in drafting texts and selecting visual material for internal platforms.
Off line
- Assist in the organization of education and outreach for internal and external audiences;
- Work closely with the Communication team to promote Ethics awareness initiatives including update of Ethics Office educational and reference materials;
- Prepare new Ethics Office outreach and visibility initiatives; and
- Perform other tasks for the Ethics Office.
Essential Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a recognized university or graduate school or be a recent graduate (max. 6 months after graduation) in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science or related field;
- Have attended University courses in the last 12 months and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies;
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point);
- Fluent in English;
- Excellent English writing and editing skills;
- Ability to use graphic design programs;
- Ability to plan and organize work and communicate effectively;
- Ability to handle a large volume of work and to meet strict deadlines;
- Ability to work independently and problem solving oriented;
- Ability to gather comprehensive information to support decision making;
- Drupal Contact Management System (Drupal CMS) knowledge desirable; and
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Terms and Conditions
- Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment.
- WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
- WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
- WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
