ABOUT WFP

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill a consultancy position of Project Manager (SCOPE Implementation Quality Management) for 6 months based at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general supervision of the Head, Digital Transfer Management (RMTB) the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:

  • Devise a strategy for and oversee the production of documentation (user manuals, standard operation procedures) on a set of digital beneficiary and transfer management solutions;
  • Develop a standard profile for project managers that will facilitate the rolling out of corporate digital beneficiary and transfer management solutions and standards in WFP Country Offices and devise a project management service to offer to Country Offices;
  • Identify appropriate tools to present solution documentation in an interactive, engaging way online, link the various types of documentation with each other and ensure linkages remain up to date;
  • Perform other duties related to digital service provision and solution roll-out as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education:  Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Social Sciences or a Change Management/Innovation or other related field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, consulting or humanitarian operations;

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Required: Experience communicating technical content and processes in easily understood terms for use in day-to-day operations;
  • Desirable: Project management experience;
  • Desirable: Experience in change management projects;
  • Desirable: Experience managing junior team members;
  • Desirable: Experience in web content development and presentation;
  • Desirable: Experience rendering the same content across various platforms;
  • Desirable: Experience in implementing technology projects.

Competencies:

  • Required: Strong stakeholder managements skills;
  • Required: Highly self-driven, delivers quality outputs with minimal supervision;

   Language:

  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written English is required. Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable.
