Background Information - Job-specific

The Area Focal Point will work under the overall guidance of the Project Manager and reports directly to the Project Coordinator. He/she is expected to support in well-functioning of the Area Office in term of (i) personnel and program administration; (ii) liaison and coordination and (iii) organizing project related meetings as per the requirements of the project/ UNOPS.  

Functional Responsibilities

Support personnel and program administration in the assigned work area:

  • Maintain all administrative records of personnel.
  • Coordinate regular meetings and prepare detailed meeting minute and report.

Serve as a liaison in the assigned work area:

  • Extend relationship and networking with different actors working in the area.
  • Coordinate assignments with key stakeholders, personnel, and project/UNOPS.
  • Coordinate and support implementation monitoring/ field visits as per the request from project/UNOPS.

Project meetings:
Coordinate and support in organizing, planning and progress reporting meeting and other project related meetings as per the requirement of the project/UNOPS.

  • Support in preparation of area progress reports on scheduled date and time. Consolidate issues raised in the meeting and report.
  • Ensure administrative and financial compliance.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education

  • Intermediate or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Social Science or related field. 
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field may be considered in lieu of the requirement of the Intermediate or Diploma and relevant experience.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience specifically in project support and personnel administration and liaison and coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Language

  • Proficiency in English and Nepali is required
