ABOUT THE JOB

 

The primary responsibility of translator is to ensure that documents, standard operating procedures, announcements, letters, reports etc are translated form English to Pashto and Dari and opposite. He / she is also responsible to verify the quality of translation done through supplier. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Translate documents, letter, standard operating procedures, announcement etc from English to Pashto & Dari and opposite (Dari or Pashto to English)
  • The translation to be done using specific formats for each documents
  • Translated documents has to be computerized for review and dissemination purpose.
  • Support expat staff when verbal translation is required
  • Keep record of all translated documents
  • Draft letters in local language for official purpose.
  • Perform any other task assigned by line manager.

     

    ABOUT YOU

     

    To be successful in this role you must have:

     

    Experience and technical competencies:

     

  • At least 2 years professional work experience with INGOs in written translation.
  • Expericce in Human resource and compliance is an asset.

     

    Education and Qualification:

     

  • University degree in English litrature, or similar field
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relations with national staff and other stakeholders;
  • Excellent in both Dari, Pashto & English language

 

Languages:

 

  • Excelent skills written and spoken English;
  • Excellent skills in local languanges (Dari and Pashto) mandatory.

CONDITIONS:

 

• Availability: As soon as possible

• Duty station: Kabul, Afghanistan

 

We offer:

 

• DRC-DDG will offer the successful applicant a contract till end of 2018, extendable based on funding and performance.

• Salary and conditions will be in accordance with NTA Salary Scale, Grade D.
