Action against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

The Logistics Coordinator is in charge of the development, coordination and monitoring of every process related to logistics in the Mission. His/her main goal is to contribute to the Mission´s Country Strategy, to ensure the approach of the Mission is well adapted to the reality of logistics in the areas of operation. Based on this, the Logistics Coordinator will also design a specific strategy for logistics management in the Mission, as well as an action plan for its implementation. The action plan will be created in coordination with the other members of the Coordination Team, and its final aim will be to guarantee an efficient and effective operational support to the projects of the Mission.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

In a context of both emergency and stabilization towards development you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate logistics at national level
  • Contribute to the definition of mission strategy
  • Promote and ensure collaboration and coordination in logistics with external stakeholders and implementing partners
  • Line-management of the Logistics team in Beirut, and technical management of and support to Base Logisticians in the Bases
  • Operational support to the Mission´s security management

Specific information about the position:

  • Basic assistance post emergency project for Syrian refuges (around 35 000 refugees)
  • Construction of infrastructures benefiting both population
  • Lebanon mission encourage new approaches and innovative solutions and the implementation of pilots project.
  • Logistics team is well trained on logistics tools and process

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Logistics, Business, Engineering or another related field. Master in Logistics, Humanitarian Studies or similar an asset.
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience in field logistics coordination and security management in a Humanitarian Aid organization. Evidence of practical experience in logistics management and coordination within the field of supply chain management, fleet/transport management and asset management. Experience in launching tenders an asset.
  • Knowledge of Action Against Hunger´s Kitlog V3.6 is an asset. Advanced knowledge of donor’s guidelines and procedures related to Logistics (ECHO, UNICEF,USAID, CIDA) is an asset.
  • Proven ability in translating analysis and evaluation into operational planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent team management skills, good listener, high communication skills
  • English (compulsory working language, spoken, read and written); Arabic (useful).

REMUNERATIVE PACKAGE

We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

  • Formal work contract: 12 months
  • Salary: from 1.700 € to 2.200 € gross/year divided in 12 payments and based on experience y context. This salary includes a base salary + context plus + living expenses and per Diem (*)
  • House and maintenance covered by the organization (including per diem): package estimated according to the destination.
  • Travel costs to and from the mission.
  • 25 working days of paid leave per year.
  • Break: additional rest period, including travel cost to a reference area and economic help of 215€.
  • Health, repatriation, travel and life insurance covered by the organization.
  • Extra per month and per child (Under 18 years old): from 100€ to 225€ monthly (according to standard list of Action Against Hunger - Spain).
