Department Overview
The Office of the CEO, contributes to realizing this purpose by developing and implementing Pact’s strategy and oversees all operational and financial matters of the organization. The team consists of a small group of professionals dedicated to supporting Pact’s President and CEO with decision-making, day-to-day management of the organization, and execution of strategic priorities. The Office of the CEO interacts with staff from a wide cross-section of the organization and leads many of the most high-profile initiatives the organization embarks upon. This office also supports the CEO with Board of Director engagement and staff communication as well as oversight of Pact’s subsidiaries.

Position Purpose
Pact has adopted a new Strategic Plan that will require the organization to fundamentally transform itself. To succeed in its transformation, Pact will need to shift individual and collective mindsets and behaviors to intentionally develop widespread understanding, commitment, and alignment to Pact’s future state. To that end, Pact has created a Strategy Realization Office and appointed a Senior Director, Strategy Realization and Change Management situated in the Office of the Chief Executive Officer. The Project Management Officer position will be supervised by the Senior Director and will coordinate and oversee the project management support to the 17 Strategic Priority Initiatives designed to achieve the transformation.

As a key member of the SRO (Strategy Realization Office), the Project Management Officer supports project management processes and tools as part of Pact’s strategy execution, and specifically for strategic initiative teams. The Project Management Officer provides the rigor of project management in support of C-Suite strategic planning and monitoring and strategy initiative project management, in addition to coordinating with the Internal Engagement Office for change management and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities
Support C-Suite Strategic Planning and Monitoring

  • Support the SRO Lead in strategy prioritization discussions with the C-suite
  • Work with the Quality Office and the Strategy Initiative Leads to gather and collate up to date information on the capacity demand for support from impacted audiences for strategic initiatives as well as bandwidth available from the impacted audiences; summarize back to the SRO Lead and C-Suite for prioritization discussions
  • Develop strategy implementation metrics, and regularly prepare progress reports for SRO Lead and C-Suite

    Support Strategic Initiative Project Management and Business Planning***

  • Liaise with Strategy Initiative Leads to support start up and implementation including

    • definition of objectives, metrics and milestones and building detailed workplans, including interdependencies and risks (in the start-up phase)
    • supporting the development of a business model canvas for those initiatives that are more market oriented (start-up phase)
    • support the implementation of initiatives and the gathering of data to measure progress
  • Consolidate strategic initiative workplans to track progress and share the overall picture with all Strategy Initiative leads

  • Support Strategic Initiatives in their engagement with different parts of the organization in pursuit of initiative objectives

  • Regularly connect with Strategy Initiative leads individually and as a group for status updates

  • Regularly conduct risk assessments and maintain an active risk register to minimize execution risks

  • Track strategic initiative milestones and communicate with others to identify inter-initiative dependencies

    Coordinate with Internal Engagement Officer***

  • Support stakeholder management by consolidating and sharing data on impacted stakeholders that are identified as part of strategic initiative planning

  • Support internal communications and change management needs as identified by the capacity assessments and/or through the Strategy Initiative leads

  • Help identify success stories and quick wins that could provide material for internal communications

    Knowledge and Skills**

  • Proven at least 5 year’s work experience as a project manager or PMO Expert

  • Strong program design, management, and implementation expertise

  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and office applications (MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)

  • Problem solving and decision making

  • Ability to negotiate and influence peers and manage both up and down to drive goals

  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills

  • Strategic and visionary mindset

  • Forward looking with a holistic approach

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

  • Flexible and adaptable; Comfortable working with ambiguous scenarios with the ability to pivot directions as needed

  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization and support various stakeholders

  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others

  • Familiarity with project management and business model canvas approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle

  • Familiarity working collaborating with outside consultants

  • Experience working in a global non-governmental organization a plus

    Basic Requirements**

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the fields of Business Management, Engineering, or Project Management; International studies and other liberal arts degrees acceptable with relevant experience

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in Project Management (or equivalent)

  • Experience creating dashboards in Excel’
