The UNICEF Pacific is looking to fill the post of Chief of Field Office under the direct supervision of the Representative, responsible for the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the FSM programme as outlined in the detailed Job Description.

There are significant Pacific regional responsibilities, not only national and sub-national responsibilities. The position will support all priority programmes and projects identified across the MCO in the 5 years of the country programme.

How can you make a difference?

Under the general guidance of the Representative, responsible for the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the FSM programme and the FSM office within the multi country programme, including Health, Nutrition, Social Policy; Child Protection; Education and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH). Cross sectoral support in areas such as communication, adolescents, climate change and disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness and response are also within the posts responsibilities. 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Advanced university degree in water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), Nutrition, Social Policy or a related technical field.

  • Five years progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in programme planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation, in WASH, Nutrition or Social Policy

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Additional requirements:

  • Current knowledge of the latest developments and technology for remote locations
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage people, money, programmes, as well as to impart knowledge and teach skills.
  • Leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
  • Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications.
  • Ability to be self-sufficient, flexible and adaptable in a remote location with limited supplies, services and connectivity.
