Location: International Office Region CEE/CIS, Vienna/Austria

SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages. As a non-governmental social development organisation, we support children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and we advocate for the rights of children and young people, in alliance with a great diversity of partners. We work in 135 countries and territories, reaching over one million children, young people, families and caregivers each year.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of Member Associations (MA) and GSC strategic and annual planning processes in the region

  • Support International Director Region in strategy including leadership and change management topics and ensure respective internal communication

  • Provide strategic management support in planning, target achievement, analysis, optimisation of processes, global/regional developments

  • Lead regional strategic planning facilitator pool and ensure their allocation in other regions to stimulate exchange and facilitation

  • Support International Director Region in preparation for  global meetings

  • Be a member of the Regional Management Team

  • Coordinate and provide regional inputs on global strategic planning topics and core policy processes

  • Be responsible for the strategic review, consolidate, analyse and prepare regional reports    

  • Be responsible for overall strategy roll-out and the development of MA capacity in strategic and annual planning, review and reporting

  • Responsible for maintaining an overview of the country cluster approach, priorities and supporting tools including building capacity in the region

  • Collect learnings regarding strategic and annual planning approach and participate in the global strategy network

Requirements

  • A university degree in Business Administration, financial and strategic management or related field preferred

  • 5 years' work experience with proven results in management, strategic planning and communications

  • Good understanding of core planning, target setting and prioritisation principles and an understanding of outcome/impact measurement

  • Understanding of leadership frameworks and internal communication related to strategy

  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment respecting diversity

  • Experience in facilitation of workshops

  • Advanced Excel skills and professional handling of other MS Office tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English

  • Applicants must hold a valid Austrian working permit or be eligible to work within the EU
