UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary manages the processing of transactions on behalf of UNICEF offices around the world. The GSSC provides services to UNICEF offices globally in the areas of HR Administration, Payroll, Finance and Customer Care (Information Technology Global Help Desk). 
 
How can you make a difference?

The IT Assistant will be responsible for implementing conference equipment’s, systems and solutions in accordance to UNICEF’s standards. Serve as a point of contact with various stakeholders and IT Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for all matters related to IT support for workshops, meetings and conferences.

Resposibilties:

First line support for conferences and meetings and to GSSC end users
• Provide first line support for conferences and meetings and video conferences.
• Attend preparation and planning meetings with other teams before workshops
• Install equipment and systems as needed in conference rooms
• Escalate any issues to responsible teams
• Investigation and troubleshooting of network, video and audio issues, maintain conference and meeting rooms IT equipment and setup
• Daily inspection of conference and meeting room equipment
• Replace equipment and install software needed for the workshops and meetings
• Ensure the highest quality setup and configuration is maintained.
• Daily inspection of conference and meeting room equipment
• Assist in re-organizing the layout of conference room furniture for a suitable configuration
• Perform other delegated functions, participate in the design and implementation of conference room systems and equipment according to the function and nature of meetings and conferences
• Develop quick cards for guidance on how to operate common equipment and devices in meeting room
• Keep update with latest development in technology
• Work with other team members to realize new projects
• Perform end user and network support duties as required by supervisor
• Perform duties related to the IT support staff by the supervisor
• Support other IT team members with other IT related tasks when required.
 
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
 
• Completion of secondary education (i.e. high school diploma) is a minimum requirement
University level courses in computer science, information systems, engineering, telecommunications, or equivalent qualifications is desirable.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Products (MS Word, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint) is required
• Previous hands-on experience in installing, operating and maintaining conference room equipment and systems
• ITIL Foundation Certificate is desirable
• Knowledge of Office 365 and Video editing and streaming software is desirable
• General knowledge/understanding of video conferencing solutions and standards is desirable.
• Minimum of five years relevant experience in information technology (IT) is required. A completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted toward the minimum work experience requirements.
• Work experience with a development organization with multi-cultural and diverse environment is an asset.
• Understanding of audio/visual equipment operations
• Understanding of video conference solutions and standards
• Work experience in dealing with Customer Support and Services is an asset.
• Knowledge of UN/UNICEF'S rules, regulations and procedures is considered an asset.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is considered an asset
• Knowledge of the local language of the duty station is an asset
