Expert Logistics (m/f)
in Mardin
The postition is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. Employment location will be Mardin, Turkey.
As logistics expert you will be responsible for the accurate implementation of all processes related to procurement, logistics etc. in Mardin. You will be managing and implementing projects on the basis of specified directives in terms of content, schedule and budget. You are responsible for the operative implementation of the project(s) and the appropriate use of funds. You are also responsible for professionelly implementing the project activities delegated by the Head of Logistics, correctly and duly reporting to Welthungerhilfe's Regional Office.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure a fully functioning inventory (spare parts, consumables, etc.) and the responsible management of the inventory
- Ensure that material resources are correctly planned in agreement with the Head of Project and the Finance Officer
- Help project management with general project planning in terms of specialist requirements
- Professional coordination and ongoing examination of work that has been carried out
- Involvement in the planning and processing of local purchases, storage, transportation, distribution and use of funds, incl. documentation
- Purchase and transfer necessary spare parts as required in agreement with the Head of Project and Finance Officer for projects
- Help Head of Project determine financial and material requirements
- Supervise, advise and train national staff in terms of project-related, specialist issues
- Help prepare and revise operational plan and reports about the project's progress and on-site developments
- Help the Head of Project ensure the correct use of funds in accordance with Welthungerhilfe directives and with contractual agreements with co-financers
- Vehicle fleet management
- Coordinate / manage relevant communication facilities (radio communication)
- Coordinate purchases via the procurement group
- Plan and organise imported goods (import regulations, customs handling)
- Organise office premises / guesthouse, storage facilities
- Organise transportation and accommodation for visitors
Your profile
- A university or polytechnic degree in development cooperation/humanitarian aid/focus on logistics, or qualifications that are commensurate with this position
- 3 - 5 years of project and coordination experience - preferably in the region
- Strong IT-skills
- Coordination and organisational skills - even under a high workload
- A very good command of English; Turkish and/or Arabic are advantageous
- A good regional knowledge
- Willingness to travel in the region
