The CANZUSI intern will work closely with the Public Partnerships Senior Adviser and her team based in New York, supporting UNICEF in managing the partnership with these countries and to mobilize resources.

The partnerships with the governments of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Unites States and Israel (CANZUSI) are amongst UNICEF’s most important and multi-faceted external partnerships. The changing aid environment requires more proactive and strategic engagement with officials from these governments. 

The CANZUSI intern will work closely with the Public Partnerships Senior Adviser and her team based in New York, supporting UNICEF in managing the partnership with these countries and to mobilize resources. 

How can you make a difference?

  • Assist the Public Partnerships Senior Advisor and the CANZUSI team in maximizing quality resources through the implementation of resource mobilization strategies for assigned partners.
  • Assist in the preparation of briefing notes, reports, income projections, and other documentation required by the Executive Director and Senior Management for meetings with partners.
  • Participate in and summarize results from internal and external meetings with resource partners.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on partner and income trends, analyze development assistance policies, and maintain updated resource partner profiles.
  • Perform ad hoc research on donor engagement strategy.
  • Review partner-funded program documents (progress and utilization reports, and financial statements) to donors.
  • Support other functions of the CANZUSI team as needed.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education:  Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or have graduated within the past two years with a preferred major in international development or related field.

  • Language: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other UN working languages is desirable.

  • Salary/Payment:
    UNICEF will not pay for services as an Intern and all the expenses connected with these services must be borne by her/him. There is no expectancy of employment at the end of the internship. UNICEF is not responsible for obtaining any necessary visas.
  • Insurance:
    UNICEF will not be responsible for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the volunteer’s service, whether on or off UNICEF premises. Therefore, the selected candidate must provide proof of enrolment in a health/accident plan prior to start his/her work with DHR.
  • Living Conditions and Working Environment:
    The intern will be based in New York and is not expected to travel during the assignment.
