ACDI/VOCA is recruiting for a Regional Agricultural Input Systems Advisor for an anticipated USAID-funded cross-border trade and resilience project in the East African Community (EAC) countries. This project will assist the Governments of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi as well as other neighboring nations to improve regional integration by identifying and mitigating policy constraints to agricultural trade and value chains, scaling up best practices, and strengthening the resilience and cooperation of regional networks.

The Regional Agricultural Input Systems Advisor responsibilities and qualifications for this program include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assume responsibility for overall technical management of Component 2: Improved Regional Agricultural Inputs under the supervision of the Chief of Party
  • Provide technical leadership, oversight, and support to all aspects of Component 2: Improved Regional Agricultural Inputs
  • Represent the Activity in coordination, capacity building, and partnership meetings with regional agro-input supply companies, research organizations, and government/ministry staff.
  • Quality control and timeliness of all deliverables
  • Other tasks as needed

  • Master's degree required in Business, Agriculture, International Development, or related field

  • Minimum of five years combined experience in:

    • the agro-input private sector, preferably in multiple countries in the region.
    • USAID-funded agricultural, enterprise development, and/or cross-border trade projects
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the private sector, government entities, and international donors

  • Fluency in English required, proficiency in regional languages desired
