Under the general guidance and supervision of the Deputy Representative, the Chief Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) is responsible for programme planning function and overseeing of monitoring and evaluating a major programme within the country programme.

How can you make a difference? 

  1. Provide technical assistance for the development of Programme/project goals, objectives, indicators and means of verification.
  2. Contribute to the implementation of Programmes/projects, including development of work plans
  3. Supervises the central and zonal offices planning, monitoring and evaluation process, identifies training needs and provides on-the-job training to staff and partners. Provides technical support to the sub-offices for the decentralization of planning, monitoring and evaluation.
  4. Assist government authorities to plan and organize training programmes in planning, monitoring and evaluation. Identifies training needs for the purpose of capacity building and sustainability of programme.
  5. Undertakes field visits to monitor and evaluate programme implementation, as well as conduct periodic programme reviews with government counterparts and other partners. Identifies problems or alternative courses of action to accelerate/improve programme delivery.
  6. Coordinates the Situation Analysis for the relevant programme areas and its periodic updates by monitoring and analyzing the social, political, and economic trends in the country, as they affect women and children.
  7. Prepares Programme documentation and ensure quality control reviews of country offices reporting
  8. Contributes to UNICEF participation in the CCA/UNDAF process, including Delivery As One with others UN agencies

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have¦

  1. Education: Advanced university degree in Social Sciences or another related field.
  2. Work Experience: Eight (8) years progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in program design, planning, monitoring and evaluation, local governance planning
  3. Languages: Fluency in French and English.
