Background

Duties and Responsibilities

  • In support of the country office do research among the countries in Asia Pacific about partnerships (Traditional funders, Vertical funding, Government financing, Private sector engagement, IFI’s portfolio’s and core contributions per country);
  • Set up / maintain a Database to support the 24 Country Offices in the region with partnership related information;
  • To be independent and creative in various stages of partnership building process: networking, conducting research, negotiating, idea proposing, and presenting both externally and internally;
  • To draft and prepare a range of documents including meeting minutes, proposals, research with high efficiency and with client-ready quality;
  • Supports in moderating the conversations between the Country Offices in the Government Financing, Private Sector and IFI’s groups;
  • To from time to time attend forums, meetings, and events to explore connections for the country offices with companies and organizations and learn about key technological / economical / political issues in the region;
  • Support in maintaining an overview of all outstanding proposals, rewarded agreements and reporting deadlines. Creates a proposal database for sharing among all CO’s.
  • To support the team’s day-to-day operations and other ad hoc tasks.

Required Skills and Experience

Education

  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or;
  • Enrolled in a final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent) or;
  • Graduated with a university degree - and if selected, must start the internship within one year after graduation;
  • Field of studies in Economics, Legal, Public Administration or Business Administration would be desirable.

Experience

  • Experience in PPP/CSR/fundraising is an asset;
  • Extremely good and experienced in proposal writing;
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications.

Language

  • Strong oral and written communication ability in English.

Internship Conditions

  • UNDP internships are not remunerated. All expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern or her/his sponsoring entity;
  • UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
  • Interns are responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed;
  • Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any post in UNDP during the period of the internship;
  • Interns must provide proof of enrolment in health insurance plan;
  • Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity;
  • Interns are expected to work full time but flexibility is allowed for education programmes;
  • Interns need to obtain financing for subsistence and make own arrangements for internship, travel, VISA, accommodation, etc.
