About VSO

VSO is the world's leading international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty. Working in 24 countries around the world, our unique role in international development is to place committed volunteers with carefully selected organisations where their skills can have the greatest impact. Our extraordinary volunteers live and work in some of the world's poorest communities. Sharing their unique skills and experience to generate new ideas and new ways of doing things, helping the communities they work in lift themselves out of poverty. We're not about delivering quick fixes, but instead we focus on long-lasting, sustainable change, that will impact generations to come. Join us and help us work towards our vision of a world without poverty.

Role overview

VSO's Business Pursuit - Global Trusts and Foundation team takes the lead in optimizing our vision for the funding potential in this sector. Sitting within the wider Business Pursuit Team, our ambition is to forge new partnerships that will contribute a target £5m a year of new business by 2020.

We are seeking an experienced Partnerships Manager to help us grow this market in line with our ambitions.
Your role will take responsibility for raising funds from an important portfolio including strategic partnerships with the Big Lottery Fund and Comic Relief. With scope to shape these partnerships you will play a leading part in empowering our programming to scale up, replicate and innovate.

Ranging from £50k grants a year to £1m+ co-creation, you will be a central contributor to the team's success, working in a supportive structure that brings together development funding skills and insights across 23 countries.

Skills, qualifications and experience

We are looking for a creative and dynamic fundraiser who can evidence a strong track record in developing high quality proposals that win £100k+ multi-year funding from institutional donors and philanthropic organizations. You will be as strong on persuasive face to face presentation as you are on the written detail. You will be an excellent communicator, a diplomatic negotiator and confident in project planning and budget analysis.
Competencies and Behaviour

At VSO we believe progress is only possible by working together. Whether you want to join us as an employee, or as a volunteer working in your own country, overseas or online, our selection process includes an assessment based on these core competencies:
