The Danish Demining Group (DDG), the specialized unit within the Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Finance and Admin Trainer to support DDG’s mine action programming in Colombia.
About the Consultancy
The Danish Demining Group (DDG) has recently received administrative accreditation to conduct humanitarian mine action activities in Colombia, leading to the organization having received funding for non-technical survey and mine clearance activities. DDG Colombia is now moving from a small set of Risk Education activities through partners, to a fully-fledged programme delivering activities directly, and from 3 national staff for the last few years up to 28 personnel including an international Ops Manager and an international Head of programme.
The overall purpose of this role is therefore to support the DDG office setup process in Colombia, as well as conduct training for the newly recruited teamleader and the head of programme in compliance with the DRC Operations handbook.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Conduct an internal assessment of requirements not in place to ensure the existing financial and admin procedures and systems are up to an auditable standard, as well as the internal programme capacity.
- Deliver training to the team leader, assistant and other relevant programme staff based on the internal assessment.
- Ensure that the Operations handbook, mainly sections on finance and administration are understood and implemented in the programme.
- Ensure that QA systems are set up in the programme and relevant staff trained to carry out required QA.
- Ensure that basic logistics, procurement and HR procedures are understood and in place.
- Daily finance and admin support to the programme as requested by the HoP.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have a strong background in programme management, specifically the finance and administrative management of a programme setup, as well as knowledge of basic logistics, procurement and HR procedures. The trainer will report to the DDG Head of Programme and will work closely with the DDG team leader to provide necessary support and training to the programme staff.

Required
- A minimum of 5 years substantial documented professional experience in financial and admin programme management and Quality assurance.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and facilitating technical trainings and mentoring.
- Good knowledge of DRC Operations Handbook
- Strong knowledge of DRC financial and administrative procedures.
- Good computer skills including Excel, Word, and Navision.
- Good writing and reporting skills.
- Excellent management and personnel skills – a calm and diplomatic disposition will be preferred
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish.
Desirable
- Working experience in Colombia
- Knowledge of DRC logistics and procurement procedures, as well as HR.
- A background in delivering and designing technical training.
Conditions
Duty station: Bogota, Colombia, with possible travel to field offices in the country. Unaccompanied, non-family duty station.
Contract: 1 month. Salary and conditions in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates and Appendix 11 as posted at www.drc.dk under Vacancies grade A11.
