The Pan American Social Marketing Organization (PASMO) is the Central American network member of PSI. Founded in 1997, PASMO has more of 20 years of experience in the region with sexual and reproductive health programs targeted to women, youth and other vulnerable populations.

PSI PASMO seeks a candidate for Technical Advisor to support and advance program quality, provide expert advice/support and transfer skills through technical assistance to PSI platforms implementing key population programs in Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama). The advisor will have a strong understanding of the full HIV treatment cascade (prevention, testing, treatment, retention and viral suppression) and how it applies to KP programming in this region. This position is contingent upon project award.

Your contribution

  • Maintain knowledge of current epidemiological, public health and social science best practices for Key Populations in Latin
  • Provide technical assistance as necessary to PSI PASMO platforms in Central America in formulating programs and implementing strategies related to KP programs, with emphasis on effective linkage programs, continuum of care, effective referrals for testing, success in treatment adherence programming, among
  • Promote the use of technology and innovation in program activities and their monitoring.
  • Help to document and institutionalize best practices learned from program implementation.
  • Strengthen existing HIV program and team, with a focus on using data for decision-making,
  • Strengthen PASMO offices communication and coordination with partners in order to achieve joint goals
  • Participate and lead new business development activities related to Key Populations.
  • Represent PSI / PASMO on relevant working/technical advisory bodies and at global HIV conferences and meetings as needed
  • Perform other responsibilities as necessary

What are we looking for?

  • Master's Degree or other relevant advanced degree in relevant field
  • Prior technical support and/or program implementation experience in HIV clinical and public health services and quality assurance
  • 4-6 years of relevant professional experience, of which at least 2 years of overseas work experience
  • Familiarity with USAID, CDC, Global Fund and other international donors
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience and excellence in working with large, diverse and remote teams
  • Spanish language skills are required, and English language is a plus

This position is based in Guatemala City and is expected to travel 25% of the time mainly within Central America.
