UNICEF Uganda is looking for consultants will be creating, designing & laying out a number of advocacy materials in the form of pamphlets, reports, banners, brochures, folders, posters, leaflets, newsletters, diaries, research findings, newspaper supplements etc. The materials created/designed/laid out will be used for advocacy, fundraising and raising awareness of UNICEF’s programmatic work in Uganda.

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision the Communications Specialist the consultants will be creating, designing & laying out a number of advocacy materials in the form of pamphlets, reports, banners, brochures, folders, posters, leaflets, newsletters, diaries, research findings, newspaper supplements etc. The materials created/designed/laid out will be used for advocacy, fundraising and raising awareness of UNICEF’s programmatic work in Uganda.

Key Tasks:

  • Studying and analysis document to gauge quality of graphics/think through relevant design for specific assignment
  • Manage designs and all aspects of the layout of the materials/assignment provided
  • Submit colour print ready version and online versions after incorporating feedback from UNICEF

Key Deliverables

  • Develop creative concepts using both text and photographs provided for assignment
  • Develop creative concepts fresh from the mind with artistic impression depending on nature of assignment.
  • Manage designs and all aspects of the layout of the materials
  • Submit colour print out to be signed off by UNICEF focal person
  • Submit online version/artwork in high resolution and web/online version
  • Provide materials on a CD ready for print

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • University degree in Graphics Design, Industrial Art and Fine Art or related field
  • Five years’ experience in graphic designing is an added advantage
  • Must have worked for humanitarian organizations and must have an understanding of the issues and content around children and women in order to design the materials in a fashion that reflects the various themes, target audiences and subject matter.
  • Evidence of creativity, graphic design and desk top publishing experience is mandatory.
  • Open to national and international applicants
  • Sample work should be attached.
