Senior Engineer

Position Summary:

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for remotely coordinating field engineers and supervising the technical aspects for infrastructure activities. By solving technical issues and providing advice, this role directly impacts the final outcome of each activity. The Senior Engineer maintains quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) and will actively participate in improvement activities to further enhance site performance with regards to cost, efficiency, health, safety and the environment.

Reporting & Supervision:

The Senior Engineer reports to the Implementation Manager and remotely manages field eningeers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work with the program teams, field engineers, field teams, and beneficiaries to prepare priority projects in relevant communities;
• Produce, verify and confirm infrastructure activity-related specification and generate adequate bill of quantity (BOQ) supported with site photos and drawings for each activity.;
• Produce implementation and work plans for each infrastructure activity;
• Provide assistance to field engineers to effectively manage projects;
• Oversee all infrastructure activities and prepare weekly reports as necessary;
• Accept or reject completed stages/works, accept or reject expenditures, provide technical support to implementation unit team and ensures relevant information is included in each Request for Quotations (ROQ) before its distribution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil engineering
• Solid technical background of AutoCAD engineering program
• Excellent communication and ability to communicate effectively with different teams
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills and good attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with third party service providers and vendors
• This position is for Jordanian and Syrian nationals with good Arabic and English skills in both writing and speaking
• Able to work with cross-border projects either in private sector, NGOs or International organization.
