Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is currently recruiting for the position of a Finance Manager –Niger, who will be responsible for maintaining financial systems and controls to ensure the efficiency, integrity and transparency of the office and sub-office operations in accordance with IR guidelines, national legal requirements and internationally accepted accounting standards.

The role will ensure that all accounting records and supporting documentation for all financial transactions are maintained in a systematic order and in a safe and secure condition under the custody of the organisation. The post-holder will also assist and support the Head of Programmes and Country Director in ensuring that field expenditures meet IR and institutional donor requirements and remain within the approved plans and budgets. In pursuit of the above-mentioned, s/he will identify the needs and support development of staff and partners to increase their competence in preparation of financial reports, donor financial reports in line with donor reporting requirements. The successful candidate must have the ability, motivation, and willingness to travel for up to 40% of the year.

It is essential that the candidate is a Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CCAB) with excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present financial matters to non-financial managers. Accompanied by experience in working independently and providing initiative in improving finance functions, s/he must have the ability to manage and supervise finance and non-finance staff in multiple and remote locations. The candidate must have problem solving skills and ability to adapt to new situations and needs. Previous experience working overseas, preferably with an NGO would be an added value.
