Action against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

The Base logistician is overall responsible for all logistics activities in the base (procurement, fleet, storage, equipments, premises) and actively contributes to the security management (analysis and operational implementation).

The Base logistician is responsible for all related procurements strictly following donors’ guidelines and Kitlog 3.6 guidelines. In addition, the base logistician will closely supervise/update the entire equipment list, supervise vehicle fleet and office maintenance in order to ensure an efficient response to all programs within the base. Lastly, the base logistician will monitor and report any incident related to security within the base.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Objective 1: Supply Chain

  • Directly responsible for the procurement of all items for the base and projects.
  • Oversees all tasks related to the procurement process such as quotation requests, suppliers’ visits, arrangement of delivery/confirmation, satisfactory quality/payment, price monitoring etc.

Objective 2: Vehicle fleet management

  • Supervise the daily and weekly movement planning according to project’s requests.
  • Ensure full compliance of AAH security rules for drivers (seatbelt use, speed limits, daily reporting, etc.).

Objective 3: Equipment management & office maintenance

  • Ensure the proper labelling and use, the optimal state, proper maintenance, storage and repair for equipment (computers, printers, photocopy machines etc).
  • Ensure the Base Equipment and Inventory list is up to date.
  • Manage and control the stock of office stationery supplies.

Objective 4: Security management and monitoring

  • Contribute to the context analysis and follow up on security incidents and reporting.
  • Ensure application of the security rules and procedures.
  • Collaborate in the design and updating of security plans and all their associated documents.

Objective 5: Monthly logistics reports

  • Submit the monthly Procurement Follow Up report every 1st day of the month for the base.
  • Submit the monthly Stock Follow Up report every 1st day of the month for the base.

PROFILE

  • University degree preferred on Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related. With professional experience in logistics within the humanitarian sector.
  • Procurement management, fleet management, Supply Chain management, Inventory control, intermediate IT knowledge.
  • At least 2 years minimum experience working on projects at humanitarian aid organizations and/or international donors or private sector.
  • High ethical principles, work under pressure, flexibility with unexpected events, organized and methodical.
  • English compulsory (written and verbal), Arabic an asset.
  • Knowledge of windows domain, high level of Excel, word and PowerPoint desirable, ODK program a plus.
  • Mobility between bases as required. No international travels required.

REMUNERATIVE PACKAGE

We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

  • Formal work contract: 12 months.
  • Base: Gaza
  • Compensation packaged: from 27.678,00 € - 32.178,00 € € gross/year divided in 12 payments and based on experience y context. This salary includes a base salary + context plus + living expenses and per Diem (*)
  • Guest House or similar accommodation covered by the organization
  • Travel costs to and from the mission.
  • Expat Health, repatriation, travel and life insurance covered by the organization
  • 25 working days of paid leave per year.
