The Logistic assistant will work under the supervision of logistic officer in Herat Office. He/ She is responsible for logistical tasks, procurement, asset registration and inventory, fleet management and stock management and other tasks which assign by his supervisor.

Job description
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of documents
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
- Procurement:
- To do and manage in all activities pertaining to Procurement services (Sourcing, Procurement, Delivery,
- To do supplies of goods and services required by the NRC operation within HRT office.
- To updating and keep recording of Procurement trucking sheet
- Implement the procurement procedure accordingly (Keep recording of PR, GRN, PO, Comparative statement ….
- Responsible for preparing of strong vendor database
- Warehouse Management:
- Manage Herat warehouse and Office stock and ensure that all items are received, dispatched and stored properly. Stock cards are accurately done and monthly stock reports is produced/shared.
- Organize transport of office goods/supplies from HRT to field offices and coordinate on matters related to dispatch/delivery with relevant offices.
- Organize warehouses for efficiency and safety
- Fleet Management:
- To updating of fuel consumption and report, stock report, vehicle’s maintenance cost in internet on daily basis
- Daily managing of NRC vehicles for project activities
- Ensure that vehicles are in good condition and normal services done accordingly
- Responsible to prepare schedule for duty drivers in GH /Office accordingly
- Manage NRC’s vehicle fleet providing advice and guidance in accordance with NRC’s Vehicle Management guidelines.
- Maintenance:
- Manage day to day maintenance issues at HRT office and guesthouse ensuring NRC’s assets and inventories are well maintained. Organize repairs and maintenance as necessary.
- Financial issues:
- Responsible for preparing of vouchers of all financial transaction according to PR / invoice and relevant supporting documents
- Receiving of cash advance for small purchasing and responsible for advance clearance with finance department
- Ensure water and electricity bills of HRT compound, guest house and warehouse are paid on time.
- Process office monthly pre-paid phone card for all national staff based on distribution list and do the payment accordingly.
- Asset Management:
- Ensure that all assets/equipment purchased are entered in asset/ inventory database before allocating or dispatching to the requester.
- To do asset verification and update asset list accordingly
- Manage NRC’s guesthouse’s Equipment/ assets are well maintained at all times and update asset list are available.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in BBA / Management
- 2 – 3 years’ experience, working as a Logistic Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
