Job Overview: The Liaison Officer is responsible for supporting the Country Director in being the point of contact with all interlocutors –officials, community, local partners, etc.

Major RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that NRC humanitarian mission and principles are understood by all stakeholders in the field.

  • Support the Country Director to develop, maintain and establish positive and transparent relations with the key stakeholders in the areas of intervention.

  • Collect, analyse and share information in areas of operation as tasked by the Country Director including on significant contextual changes in order to supporting the Country Director and program staff to develop an in-depth understanding about the areas of operation

  • Represent NRC as a humanitarian organization in community outreach meetings and in access negotiation meetings with government and non-government stakeholders, in liaison with the Country Director.

  • Pursue and develop relationships with local partners to identify new humanitarian access opportunities and to maintain existing ones.

  • When relevant, support other departments to develop local partnership, identifying opportunities, gauging chances of success and making sure the partnership adheres to NRC standards.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

No double job.

Education: University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in, Business Administration, political science, international relations, or related fields. A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree
Experience
: Minimum of 3 years professional experience in similar positions. INGO experience is an asset.
Language: Fluency in Arabic and English

Computer proficiency (word, excel)
Other qualities: integrity, team work skills, flexibility, networking skills.
