The WASH Technical Advisor provides leadership and program support of all WASH aspects under the Development Food Security Activity (DFSA) grant project. This position will coordinate with each of the partner organizations involved in the project, and will be responsible to advise on and monitor program quality, supporting consortium members in completion of activities such as Participatory Hygiene and Sanitation Transformation (PHAST), Open Defecation Free (ODF) Sanitation for all activities to a high quality within the project period. Experience in the context of WASH in pastoral and agro-pastoral communities will be essential in this role. Understanding of and experience in organizing communities around disaster risk management and natural resource management is required. The position is expected to travel frequently throughout the regions of Maradi and Zinder for management, support, monitoring, and evaluation of program activities. This role will be responsible for all infrastructure activities to be implemented by this program. The position will work alongside the Health and Livelihoods Technical Advisors, and report to the Deputy Chief of Party (based in Maradi) on day-to-day management of the WASH and infrastructure sector of the DFSA, and also works closely with the Niger Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Desertification Control.
