Main objective of the role:
 
The Peek Programme Officer will coordinate the implementation of CBM’s 5-year collaboration with Peek Vision. He/She will ensure alignment and close working with Peek Vision, the CBM Inclusive Eye Health (IEH) Team, CBM Member Associations, Country Offices and local partners. The Programme Officer will be responsible for preparing Peek programme documents, proposals, and reports to funders and provide general support to the IEH Team on other eye health projects, including some administrative and logistical tasks.
 
We are looking for someone who will…
  • Coordinate the implementation of country programmes where CBM is collaborating with Peek Vision
  • Develop internal CBM Peek project documents which meet agreed standards of design and quality to be presented to CBM Member Associations
  • Support CBM Member Associations with project proposals to funders
  • Monitor implementation of Peek country programmes, actively engage in evaluations and feed results into further planning
  • Collate information and reports from Peek country programmes to produce central quarterly reports for CBM Member Associations and external donors
  • Ensure CBM Peek programmes adopt a quality assurance approach
  • Monitor policies, trends, data & research in eye health generally
  • Support the coordination of the Technical Leadership Team (Core Advisory Team) in Eye Health
  • Support the CBM Community of Practice in Eye Health
We are looking for someone who has...
  • A relevant degree in social sciences, disability or equivalent
  • Proven experience of financial reporting against complex budgets
  • Experience of participatory monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment of programmes and projects
  • Demonstrable experience of applying for and reporting against statutory and institutional funding from a funder such as DFID, Big Lottery Fund and Major Trusts
  • Experience of working at a distance from some members of the team and of developing and maintaining distance working relationships.
  • Understanding of the Project Management cycle (desirable)
  • Understanding of international eye health and disability discourse and priorities (desirable)
  • Ability and willingness to undertake overseas travel
  • Experience of working in or with the global South
  • Experience of working in the disability field (desirable)
  • Demonstrable interpersonal skills that build consensus and partnership working
