ABOUT THE JOB

 

To support the project manager and logistics Officers in the region, in Control all the DRC & DDG Warehouse/Stores in coordination with Site operation officers. The main objective is to run and maintain an efficient and transparent logistics inventory system, which responds to the current needs for the area operations, including Emergency responses and complies with the DRC/DDG operations handbook.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Understand, respect and control DRC policies and procedures. Focus on supporting transparency and accountability of the organization.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with DRC & DDG Programme
  • Maintain accurate systems and regularly updating Warehouse / Inventory Database.
  • Assist with Logistics officer for preparation of any reporting required in terms of Stock Reports, Deliveries, Goods Received and compliance documentation.

    Position’s Specific Objectives and responsibilities

  • Maintaining and updating records of all inventory lists.
  • Responsible for physical inspection of stores to be done on a regular basis, also ensuring that the stock is stored correctly and rotated effectively.
  • Responsible for the Explosive Monthly Report to regional police department and Kabul office.
  • Maintain good work standards and controls, ensuring proper stock handling, record keeping and storeroom methods.
  • Effectively manage analyses and sort all incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Review requests; authenticate all issuing and receiving documents
  • Issue stationary as required to the various field sites.’
  • Issue and return explosive to DDG teams in the region.
  • Refueling of vehicles and generators.
  • Ensure the vehicles servicing and maintenance of vehicles and generators according to DRC fleet guidelines.
  • Ensure efficient servicing and maintenance system of all vehicles according to DRC transport guidelines.
  • Managing supply of goods and equipment to the field offices.
  • Check new equipment before signed in, as per GRN report.
  • Provide service timely to the other staff and teams when it comes to sign out equipment and expendables.
  • Perform any other tasks as instructed by the Project manage and logistics officer.

     

    Filing

  • Ensure that an organized filing system is in place.
  • Support Logistics Officer in the provision of accurate updated documentation in case of audit
  • Ensure efficient servicing and maintenance system of all vehicles according to DRC transport guidelines.
  • Ensure that an organized filing system is in place, which should include records of work done and vehicle performance records.
  • Ensure that the preposition spare parts stock at an appropriate levels according to needs and availability.
  • Provide oversight on the management and maintenance schedule for generators, ensuring they are maintained and serviced.
  • Provide weekly work plans and monthly reports project manager and logistic officer and actively participate in the weekly/ monthly coordination and departmental meetings.
  • Adhere fully to the DRC Code of Conduct.
  • Any other task and duties assigned by Line Manager, such as providing cover for a colleague who is away.

    To be successful in this role you must have:


    Experience and technical competencies:

     

  • Two years’ work experience in the logistic field
  • Should have de mining background or work experiences with de mining INGO/NGOs

     

    Education:

     

  • Graduated from High school
  • Knowledge of MS office package

     

    Languages:

     

  • English (Written and Spoken) – Good
  • Dari / Pasto (Written and Spoken) – Fluent

CONDITIONS:

 

• Availability: As soon as possible

• Duty station: Kabul, Panjshir and Nangarhar(with travel to field compounds among the region)

 

We offer:

 

• DRC-DDG will offer the successful applicant a contract till end of 2018, extendable based on funding and performance.

• Salary and conditions will be in accordance with NTA Salary Scale, Grade E, Level 1 equal to 25,000 AFN per month.
