OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The Partnership aligns and engages global stakeholders in support of the Every Woman Every Child movement and facilitates the unified Global Accountability Framework. Mobilising its diverse network of over 1000 partners, and through its core functions (Alignment, Analysis, Accountability, and Advocacy), the Partnership aspires to contribute to all the targets set out under the Global Strategy for Women's Children's and Adolescents Health three objectives - Survive, Thrive and Transform. The Partnership pays particular attention to lagging, marginalised, and excluded populations and those in humanitarian, conflict and fragile settings.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

- Creates internal events organization plans, checklists and tracking sheets, including related financial forecast in line with the annual workplan to ensure efficient planning.

- Manages the organization of PMNCH events and coordinates preparations for governance events and partners' forums.

- Develops meetings and events plans and costing using appropriate WHO tool(s) to ensure efficient, timely, and cost effectiveness.

- Manages hosting arrangements with local partners, including negotiating cost-effective deals for accommodation, meeting venues and logistics.

- Conducts and manages the logistics in preparation for all events to include, but not limited to\: venue, security and protocol, material, invitations and travel. Supports the negotiation of contractual arrangements, and manage administrative and financial transactions.

- Supports the procurement process for the technical team, e.g. requests for proposals, adjudication reports, etc.

- Ensures that expenditures incurred are reflected under appropriate expenditure types, and prepare an expenditure overview at the conclusion of each event.

- Ensures that event management and organization complies with WHO rules, regulations and obligations.

- Based on a solid understanding of the requirements for each event, plans events with attention to financial and time constraints.

- Performs other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential\: First level university degree in International Relations, Business Administration or Social sciences.
Desirable\: Advanced level university degree in Social Sciences, International Relations or specialized training in project management, global public health or a related field.

Experience

Essential\: Minimum of 2 years of relevant project management experience in the context of international organizations in the area of international events organization and logistics.
Desirable\:  Experience working at WHO or other UN Organisation. Experience in global health context.

REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 46,472 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 3234 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
