The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking for its Finance Directorate - Coordination Division - Business Processes, Partnerships and Control Unit

at its headquarters in Luxembourg:

INTERN

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st September 2018)

(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Please note that you are requested to limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications. We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.

Objective of the traineeship

The objective of your traineeship is to support the Business Processes and Mandates activities, mainly under the EU programming period 2014 - 2020, as well as new regulatory requirements.

You will review the processes of  the Finance Directorate (Treasury, Funding and Back Office lending activities), especially the ones related to the management of the mandates assigned by the European Commission and other institutions and by supporting ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of Senior Officers, you will:

  • Document and keep the processes of the Finance Directorate updated, in particular those related to mandates;
  • Identify areas of improvement and optimization;
  • Support the documentation of operational procedures at different services level;
  • Participate in projects related in particular to Treasury management and regulatory compliance activities.

Academic qualifications and professional skills

  • Final year of studies or University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering;
  • Experience in business process mapping and optimization possibly in banking sector and financial environment would be an advantage;
  • Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (Windows, MS Office, Web Browsers, Adobe);
  • Knowledge of basic Project Management principles would be an advantage;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French. Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage. knowledge of the other MS Office applications;
  • Ability to write project- related documents (e.g. specifications, reports) in English would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of the EU institutions environment.
