JOB PURPOSE

To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This job is found in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh to support L3 emergency operation due Rohingya influx. The job holders typically report to a Programme Policy Officer/Deputy Programme Coordinator or the designate.

At this level, job holders are responsible for the completion of a range of specialized and/or standardized processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other support staff. They work under minimum supervision, perform basic analyses and compile reports to support information consistency and smooth implementation of programmes/projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the overall guidance and supervision of Programme Policy Officer/Deputy Programme Coordinator or the designate, the Programme Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

  • In coordination with the UNHCR/IOM and site management partners coordinate all the relocation activities including participation in the relocation coordination meetings in the camp.
  • In coordination with UNHCR/IOM and GFD cooperating partners ensure that all the families relocated from transit centres and from other camps receive their food assistance immediately as per the agreed SOP.
  • In coordination with the GFD cooperating partners and WFP CBT unit manage transition from GFD to CBT including exclusion and inclusion of families in GFD when required.
  • In coordination with the GFD cooperating partners, prepare distribution plan for general food distribution in the camp.
  • Prepare relevant food release notes in COMET in consultation with the head of programme based on the approved GFD distribution plan.
  • Ensure FMAs undertake GFD monitoring and share the monitoring feedings after every GFD round. In addition ensure that the FMAs fill in monitoring checklists every round as required.
  • Follow up monitoring findings with partners and other relevant stakeholders at the camp level for corrective measures.
  • Reports on all aspects of the programme implementation and quality to the Head of Programme.
  • Represent WFP at the camp level including coordination meetings and follow up on action points with the Sub Office and partners for implementation.
  • Training the partner staffs at the camp level on WFP requirements in programme implementation, food management and reporting.
  • In liaison with the Head of Programme, contribute in preparation for WFP missions to the camps through coordination with partners and other stakeholders.

Strong preference will be given to those who have an advance level knowledge in MS Word and Excel. The ideal candidate will be both detailed-oriented, determined, proactive and impatient to get stuff done

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: University degree (Bachelor degree or equivalent) and/or Post Graduate. Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant subject is preferable.

Language:  Fluency in English and local language

Knowledge & Skills: Training and/or experience utilizing computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and other WFP standard software packages and systems eg. COMET. General knowledge of UN system administrative policies, rules, regulations and procedures in the area of administration

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Contract Type             : Service Contract

Monthly Net Salary    : BDT. 86,452 net
