Are you an experienced IT Project Assistant capable of providing support in the building of web based customized workflow applications for two business applications that can be accessed via SharePoint environment? UNICEF Supply Division in Copenhagen has a vacancy for an individual contractor who is interested in assisting the coordination of business owners and software developers in all phases of the project implementation (development, testing and sign-off).

BACKGROUND:

The global UNICEF IT strategy for collaborative platforms and document management systems is based on Microsoft technologies and cloud services such as Office 365-E3 and Microsoft Azure. The new service signifies a first important building block towards UNICEF’s move to Unified Communications and cloud based solutions.

Since the roll out of Office 365 in 2014, IT has been developing a sophisticated architecture on Microsoft platform with tools for business divisions to build their own applications. This includes an integrated Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) with single sign on enabled and a robust architecture to support MS Azure cloud based solutions

 

OBJECTIVE:

UNICEF Supply Division currently manages multiple business workflow applications, knowledge sharing and supply community in Lotus Domino and uses file server heavily for document sharing and management which will be unsupported soon. Therefore, there is an immediate need to migrate or re-develop them to a Microsoft technology based solutions.

 

UNICEF Supply Division currently require an experienced IT project assistant to support the IT Specialist (Project Manager) in building web based customized workflow applications for two business applications that can be accessed via SharePoint environment. The successful candidate will assist in coordination with business owners and software developers in all phases of the project implementation (development, testing and sign-off).

How can you make a difference?

DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT:

  • Verify and validate the business requirements and functional specifications via consultative process
  • Communicate on the business/functional requirements to technical experts and enable the development of the web application
  • Support the development process, reporting on development progresses, key milestones and report updates verbally and in written form to the Project Manager
  • Work collaboratively with the project manager and team to maximize productivity
  • Collaborate with the whole project team, contributing to the entire project lifecycle

 

KEY DELIVERABLES:

  • Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), allowing functional design for both applications
  • Functional Design Specifications (FDS), driving application development
  • Liaise developer resources with Business Owners (BOs) throughout the application development
  • User Acceptance Test (UAT) document, allowing Business Owners to report on UAT results
  • Support and coordination of the User Acceptance Tests (UATs)
  • Support and coordination of the sign-off process.

Education:

  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in business analysis and project management

 

Language:

 

  • Proficient level of written and spoken English, effective communication skills
