Senior Livelihood Officer will provide support to DRC’s cash and livelihood technical unit in close coordination with the Cash and Livelihood Advisor. This will include supporting the field roll out of tools and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as well as quality assurance monitoring of technical programs and revision of internal skills training materials. In addition, the Senior Livelihood Officer will support in the development and execution of market mapping exercises and sector assessment activities as needed. 
 
 
 
About the job 
 
The individual will report directly to Livelihood Coordinator. Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 
 
Technical Field Support (70%): 
• Support field teams in rolling out livelihood tools and SOPs.  
• Review and develop Arabic language material for the technical unit. 
• Participate in project kick-off meetings as well as systematic project review discussions. 
• Assist in the roll out of the Gamma database at the field level, providing support to field staff as needed. 
• Support Cash and Livelihood Advisor in training of field staff on use of cash and livelihood tools, providing periodic refresher trainings as required. 
• Visit program activities and provide support and feedback to implementing partners and DRC staff on technical approaches and methodological issues. 
• Support the roll out of market mapping exercises and sector assessments in coordination with the MEL Unit.  
• Assist in the operationalization of DRC’s national cash and livelihood strategy. 
 
Content Development and Revision (30%): 
• Review and update Arabic language training materials in coordination with the field teams and technical unit based in Amman; 
• Develop and support the revision new technical tools to support field programs, including  
• Assist in the roll out of new trainings and development of associated support materials; 
• Assist in translation of technical documents from English to Arabic, as well as review of outsourced translations for quality assurance/ 
• Support field staff in identifying and strengthening local partnerships; 
 
 
About you 
To be successful in this role we expect you to have At least one year proven and successful track record working with INGOs or in a related private sector role. 
 
Moreover, we also expect the following:  
 
Required / Desirable 
• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: International development, social sciences, international relations, human rights. Masters preferred. 
• Experience in economics, business, and/ or development in Jordan;  
• Experience working in Jordan with a range of a local partners in the field of economic empowerment and/ or livelihoods 
• Experience providing technical support and/ or trainings; 
• Experience with project cycle management and project management tools such as logical frameworks, work plans, and monitoring plans. 
• High integrity and willingness to conduct her/himself transparently and open to scrutiny 
 
Ideally, you also have 
• Ability to communicate technical information in an easy to understand, informative and collaborative manner 
• Good knowledge of the Core Humanitarian Standards or other accountability measures/standards  
• Fluency in Arabic and excellent in English

We offer 
Contract length: 6 month contract including three months as probation period, renewable based on both funding and performance.
