About the job 
As a Deputy team Leader, you will be directly responsible for your team staff, equipment’s, disciplinary, admin and logistical aspects of your team. Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 
 
  • Execution of Survey / BAC / EOD assigned to your Team. 
  • Survey / EOD / BAC in accordance with DDG Standard Operating Procedures. You are directly responsible for the safety of all personnel and visitors to your site. 
  • Conformity to IMAS / NMAS 
  • Deployment of Operators on the task site. 
  • Gathering further information about your current site and other priority tasks within your AOR and inform your TL accordingly. 
  • The organisation, administration, logistics and disciplinary control of your team. 
  • Report area cleared and mines/UXO/LSA cleared and or destroyed to the Team Leader at the end of the working day. 
  • Report personnel attendance, disciplinary issues and security information to the Team Leader. 
  • All staff under your control are fully employed. 
  • Ensure high standards of conduct are promoted and that staff are given guidelines for behaviour. 
  • Infringements of DDG SOP’s / IMAS / NMAS are corrected instantly and reported to the Team Leader, however minor they may be. 
  • Manage work and delegate responsibility to your Operators. 
  • Ensure the security of all equipment for your Team. 
  • Personally check the serviceability of each detector every day. 
  • Carry out inspections of all equipment at regular intervals (at least weekly). 
  • Report any faulty or broken equipment to the Team Leader. 
  • Ensure that your Team vehicles are serviceable and that vehicle checks are carried out prior to deployment on operations. 
 
About you 
To be successful in this role we expect you to a proven track record of a minimum 5 years Mine Action experience. Moreover, we also expect the following:  
 
Required  
  • IMAS level 2/3 EOD course or relevant course. 
  • A proven track record of a minimum 5 years Mine Action experience. 
  • A proven track record of a minimum 3 years management experience. 
  • An understanding of INGO terminology and processes. 
  • Excellent IT skills; Microsoft Word, Excel etc. 
  • Team player. 
  • An understanding and commitment to DDG/DRC aims and values. 
 
Desirable 
  • Ability to speak other International languages  
  • Other relevant qualifications or training courses. 
  • Full driving license.
