DRC is looking for an experienced Psychosocial Support (PSS) Officer to implement the Psychosocial Support component in Azraq camp. The PSS officer conducts support groups for adults and oversees implementation of psychosocial support activities, and recreational activities. 
 
 
About the job 
 
The individual will report directly to Senior Protection Officer. Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 
• Plan, develop and implement PSS activities in Azraq camp in a participatory manner 
• Plan and facilitate psychosocial support group activities 
• Develop well-structured plans for all psychosocial activities  
• Conduct intake and post-session assessments for all PSS beneficiaries 
• Ensure timely referral of cases in need of further support 
• Conduct group meetings and brainstorming sessions with beneficiaries for PSS related activities 
• Regularly monitor activities and provide feedback to direct supervisor to ensure high quality implementation of program activities 
• Build the capacities of volunteers, including trainings in PSS, to facilitate participatory and inclusive activities 
• Weekly and monthly reports on progress against targets 
• Contribute to data entry and analysis of gathered information. 
• Prepare order requests to use funds for psychosocial support activities in line with DRC policies and procedures 
• Conduct regular feedback sessions utilizing feedback tools  
• Support in developing PSS activity plans and curriculum for DRC’s Protection Volunteer Network 
• Coordinate with partners on complimentary PSS programs when possible 
• Identify new opportunities to address unmet beneficiary needs and complimentary programming when possible 
• Coordinate with the livelihood unit on opportunities for integrated activities  
• Ensure that protection is mainstreamed in all PSS activities and that activities are compliant with DRC Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (e.g. Child Safeguarding Policy and Child Friendly Space SOPs) and Accountability Principles.  
• Attend trainings related to line of work.  
 
 
About you 
 
Required / Desirable 
• Bachelor degree in psychology, social work, social sciences, mental health, sociology or relevant equivalent experience; 
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in running and managing adult group activities, prior experience in a camp setting an advantage 
• Proven experience in planning and facilitating psychosocial support activities  
• Familiarity with IASC Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings  
• Experience in providing training in the field of PSS 
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Microsoft, PowerPoint and Outlook); 
• Fluent in written and spoken Arabic and strong English skills

Contract length: 6 month contract including three months as probation period, renewable based on both funding and performance.
