Come and support our library collection and services

Bringing together the resources of 30 member states, EUMETSAT observes the atmosphere and ocean surfaces from space using a system of satellites 365 days a year. Our data is vital for weather forecasts that help to protect lives and property, as well as monitoring the environment and our changing climate.

We need an Assistant Librarian to participate in the daily running of our library and to support the Librarian in developing the library collection and services. Our collection is mainly focused on scientific or technical interests, but also covers other areas such as management and space policy.

We especially look forward to hearing from you if you have experience of working in a library, preferably a small one dealing with technical and scientific subject matters.  You will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, online research tools, online journals and maintaining e-books. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to promoting the library.  With strong customer service skills, you need to be able to work autonomously and have good interpersonal skills.

We offer a competitive salary, benefits and a great working environment. You must be able to work effectively in English and have a working knowledge of French.  For this role, it would be advantageous to be fluent in spoken and written German.

The closing date is 14th June and we expect to hold interviews in the w/c 23rd July 2018.

EUMETSAT is committed to providing an equal opportunities work environment for men and women and is seeking to recruit nationals from its Member States. Please see our website for further details.
