Background
The GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP) is a corporate programme of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), which is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), on behalf of the GEF’s three executive agencies, namely the UNDP, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Bank (WB). GEF/SGP grants funds for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or community-based organizations (CBOs) in pursuit of their activities that address local issues concerning the GEF focal areas; biological diversity, climate change and land degradation.
Effective day-to-day substantive, administrative and financial support to the national SGP team and the National Steering Committee to ensure the smooth operation and management of the GEF-SGP (Global Environment Facility – Small Grants Programme) programme portfolio, timely and efficient response to queries from different grantees and stakeholders, closely monitoring the achievement of the national annual SGP delivery and co-financing targets, and updating of relevant databases

Competencies
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project cycle management in the public or private sector or international organizations.
- Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP, and partner organizations,
- Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability,
- Experience in organizing and coordinating events and activities.
- Experience of using UN financial systems; OneUNOPS or ATLAS is an asset.
- Strong English language drafting skills
Required Skills and Experience
Education: | Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in the fields of economics and administrative sciences and sustainable development) |
Experience: | 5 years of working experience |
Language: | Fluent written and spoken English |
Computer skills: | Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications, integrated web-based management systems, spreadsheets and databases |
Nationality: | Turkish |
