Purpose of the job:

The Logistic Assistant will work under the supervision of logistic officer in Benghazi Office. The purpose of the position is to assist in the day to day implementation of the support functions responsibilities in Benghazi.

 

Job description

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines

  • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action

  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management

  • Ensure proper filing of documents

  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function

 

  • Maintain asset tracking documentation, conduct physical checks and ensure completion of handover forms

  • Conduct small procurements in accordance with guidelines and assist larger procurements including gathering quotations, updating supplier information and preparing documentation

  • Conduct daily checks on vehicles, generators and facilities. Arrange scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance. Coordination of vehicles to meet requests of team.

  • Assist in the management of stock and inventory. Prepare and update tracking documentation. Organise transportation of goods and ensure proper documentation and coordination. Conduct regular checks and provide reports.

  • Filing and scanning of auditable procurement and logistics documentation.

  • Conduct all activities in accordance with NRC and donor policies maintaining high standards and contributing to a culture of accountability and transparency.

  • Any other relevant task as required

 

  • Work positively with all colleagues particularly logistics, finance and project teams, contributing to a culture of working together

  • Represent NRC appropriately and accountably in interactions with suppliers

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

 

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience working in logistics preferably in a humanitarian context.

  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities

  • Good working level of written and spoken English

 

  • Experience of conducting competitive and accountable procurement

  • Document management experience

  • Experience of managing stock and assets

  • Good IT skills particularly use of email, Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience of Microsoft 365 is an advantage.

We offer

contract length: 1 year contract with possible extension

Monthly Salary based on NRC Libya Salary Scale plus additional benefits

Travel: Position is based in Benghazi. Limited travel is expected within Libya.
