CAMRIS seeks a Social Science Researcher (Local Consultant) for the upcoming Mid-Term Performance Evaluation of the Strengthening Democratic Governance and Accountability (SDGAP) Activity for USAID/Sri Lanka. The purpose of this evaluation is to evaluate the mid-term achievements and implementation performance at strengthening Sri Lanka's systems and processes in public accountability and policy reform, and to identify recommendations for course correction to ensure that activity goals and objectives are fully met.

Note: The position is contingent on contract award.

  • Serve on a four-person SGADP evaluation team.
  • Conduct desk review and provide technical contributions to the evaluation team.
  • Contribute to the development of data collection instruments, identification of interview respondents, evaluation research design, and drafting of the inception report, out brief presentation and final report.
  • Conduct key informant interviews and focus group discussions with project beneficiaries and key stakeholders.
  • Lead the organization, coding, and management of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Analyze the evaluation data and present findings using graphs, tables, and charts.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Team Lead.

  • A bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience as a researcher or data analyst participating in research studies, evaluations, assessments, or surveys.

  • Experience conducting key informant interviews and leading focus group discussions.

  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.

  • Proficient in MS Excel and Powerpoint.

  • Able to visually display quantitative and qualitative data using graphs, tables, and charts.

  • Fluent in English, Sinhala, and Tamil.

  • Excellent English writing skills.

  • Previous USAID experience is preferred.
