Head of Programme (m/f)
in Juba
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until 31 December 2019. Employment location will be Juba, South Sudan (SS).
Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Programme Coordinator supports the development of the multiannual country programme and contributes to its implementation and monitoring in order to maximise the WHH impact on the basis of Welthungerhilfe strategy and the relevant concept papers and according to WHH quality standards.
The Programme Coordinator represents Welthungerhilfe in the country in agreement with the Country Director.
Your responsibilities
• identify, examine and assess new project ideas on the basis of the multi-annual regional programme and WHH strategic objectives
• write proposals and reports for donor submission
• coordinate preparation of internal project documents
• identify co-financing opportunities with the aim to further diversify donor funding
• liasoning with key stakeholders and important donors for the programme
• identify and promote new project partnerships including capacity building of national Civil Society Organisation
• ensure compliance with WHH and donors quality standards and procedures
• ensure reporting occurs correctly and in due time to Head Office and to donors
• further build up and ensure a systematic monitoring and evaluation system to be implemented in Somaliland
• provide support to in-country evaluations and audits and ensure that learnings from evaluations and audits are incorporated into existing programme and projects
• participate in coordination summits
Your profile
- University degree in humanitarian/develpment studies or equivalent degree related to the position
- 2 to 5 years' professional experience working in the global South
- Coordination and organisational skills - even under a high workload
- Advanced knowledge Microsoft Office 2016 Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent spoken and written English, German language skills are a strong asset
- Prior experience in South Sudan is an asset
