The role:

The purpose of the officer position is day to day implementation of the Information Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) Project, through assessing legal needs, identification of people in need and ensuring access to legal advice in the area of Housing, Land and Property:

  • Ensures the provision of information, counselling and further legal support to ICLA beneficiaries

  • Case management of beneficiary cases including necessary follow up with agreed deadlines

  • Close liaison with the legal community in order to provide accurate and updated advice for ICLA beneficiaries

  • Conduct legal research and analysis when necessary and developing training materials

  • Other tasks required by the Coordinator or other assigned direct line manager.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Experience from working as a Project Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context. A legal background, particularly in the area of housing, land and property will be considered a strong advantage. Ideally, the candidate should be able to use MS Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook. S/he should have the ability to prioritize responsibilities, carry out multiple tasks simultaneously, and able to meet deadlines. Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and Knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of humanitarian principles and code of conduct is essential.
