Plan International UK strives to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Policy and Programmes Directorate supports our aims by ensuring that we deliver the highest quality policy and programmes. We constantly enhance programme quality and effectiveness, raise income from institutional donors (like the British Government), and drive change through setting and influencing policy agendas.

Sitting within the Directorate, the Development Programmes Unit (DPU) supports Country Offices by helping them to design high quality programmes, and by raising the funds from institutional donors needed to implement them. We are recruiting a Technical Specialist, focusing on Education

In the role, you will contribute to technically strong, gender-sensitive or transformative, Education proposals and provide targeted support to the largest and most complex projects. You will also provide in-country implementation technical support for prioritised projects and as such will be required to travel overseas for up to 25% of the time.

You will have a track record of developing strong fundraising proposals targeted at institutional donors related to Education, along with experience of implementing and/or advising on Education programmes in developing countries. With a good understanding of the funding and policy environment pertaining to Education, and of best practice in programming, you will be able to contribute to the design and delivery of good quality gender-sensitive or transformative Education interventions.

The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Monday 25 June 2018

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 4 July 2018

Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
