Organizational Setting

 

OHR develops, recommends and facilitates implementation of human resources policies, procedures and services and advises

management on appropriate measures and strategies to ensure that the Organization attracts, develops and retains a diverse,

skilled and highly motivated workforce. OHR administers the Organization's human resources management programmes, in particular in the areas of talent acquisition, recruitment and application of corporate policies and procedures. It supports the HR Units and staff throughout the Organization, in the SSC and the Regional Offices, to ensure that HR processes and programmes are delivered in a consistent, effective and efficient manner.

 

The assignment is with the Professional Recruitment Branch (OHRR).

 

Reporting Lines

 

The Senior Human Resources Officer reports to the Senior Human Resources Officer.

 

Technical Focus

 

Human resources talent acquisition, souring and attracting

 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Liaises with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and deliver strategic hiring strategies targeted towards each technical area;
  • Develops strategies for talent acquisition and targeted messages for professional networks to attract qualified applicants;
  • Manages outreach and employer branding campaigns for the dissemination of FAO vacancy announcements through specialized networks and media, with the objective of increasing the quantity and quality of applicants to FAO vacancy announcements;
  • Develops strategies to foster gender and geographical balance of FAO’s workforce;
  • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders, such as the social media team in the Office of Corporate Communications and academic networks to undertake special targeted campaigns as needed;
  • Facilitates job fairs/recruitment events, and maintains related resource material and references;
  • Acts as trainer for face-to-face (workshop/coaching session) and online (webinar/video-conference) activities targeted towards attracting candidates to specific assignments;
  • Builds and maintains a broad network of potential candidates as a result of the recruitment process or through pro-active research with the aim to anticipate business needs and increase awareness;
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the market trends, according to the specific duty station;
  • Participates on Organization-wide committees and working groups;
  • Delivers training to hiring manager on how to identify and acquire the best talent;
  • Provides reports and statistics on the talent acquisition activities;
  • Performs other related work as required.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in human resources, management, public or business administration, organizational development, industrial psychology or a related field to the work of the Organization
  • Five years of relevant experience in human resources management and administration, particularly delivering and leading talent acquisition strategy and activities
  • Working knowledge of English, French or Spanish and limited knowledge of one of the other two or Arabic, Chinese, Russian.
