ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

WFP Egypt  is embarking on a new Country Strategic Plan 2018-2022 which addresses four results: everyone has access to food, no one suffers from malnutrition, food systems are sustainable, and institutional capacity is strengthened. In partnership with the Government Of Egypt, WFP provides school meals for up to vulnerable children and their family members, improved livelihoods of smallholder farmer and Bedouin communities on an annual basis and combats malnutrition.  Moreover, WFP implements a nutrition-specific intervention addressing the first 1,000 days of life  and supports food insecure Syrian refugees in Egypt with food vouchers and resilience building activities.  All these activities are being carried out by a multi-sectoral Programme team under the leadership of the Head of Programme and the Deputy Country Director.

JOB PURPOSE

To  deliver a wide range of business support processes and activities for the Programme Team in WFP Egypt, to facilitate effective service delivery nationwide 

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable. Applicant with BA will be given priority

Experience: Four or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream with experience in general administrative work


Knowledge & Skills:

· Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages specifically Photoshop, illustrator, Final Cut and other softwares.

 · Knowledge of work routines and methods in order to complete processes under minimal supervision.

 · Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals.

· Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Collate information for inclusion in reports, documents and correspondence, to support the effective work of other staff.

2. Respond to standard queries and provide timely and accurate guidance.

3. Process and manage routine administrative and financial tasks in various functional areas, to contribute to the effective and timely management of resources

4. Manage and maintain records and databases, to ensure information is organised and readily available for staff.

5. Maintain relationships with a range of individuals through provision of business support to assist in information sharing and service delivery to staff.

6. Proof-read reports, documentation, correspondence, etc., making changes in line with established guidelines where appropriate.

7. Contribute to improvement of business procedures and processes.

8. Collect and perform basic analysis of data to contribute to quality business information management.

9. Provide guidance to junior colleagues in performing their duties.

In addition to

 Act as a point for contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary.

  1. Provide general office support following established targets and WFP policies and procedures.
  2. Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities
  3. Provide Programme field level staff with information, logistical and technical support

Entitlements:

WFP offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes a monthly salary of 13,070 EGP in addition to comprehensive Medical Insurance for self & dependents, as well as  a total of 30 days  annual leave.

This contract  is till 30/06/2019  and  extension will be subject to satisfactory performance & fund availability
