MdM currently works in more than 45 countries across all continents where it focuses on 5 priority areas: emergency and crisis, sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, migrants and displaced populations (health rights), health and environment.
MdM project “Aid inside Syria” aims to support access to health care in Idlib, Aleppo, Dera’a and El Hassake governorates, through direct implementation and to provide medical support to partners in the field. MdM activities inside Syria focus on primary health care, sexual and reproductive health and mental health.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direct responsibility of the general coordinator and with functional link with the regional medical advisor based in Amman, you will ensure proper information sharing, regarding medical components of the Syria mission, with the different members of the Syria Coordination and MdM regional office.

Your main responsibilities are to :

The program technical supervision and oversight:

-Ensure the implementation of the organisation medical framework within the programs, adjusting the methodology according to access constraints
-Pilot medical assessments on geographical areas according to the population needs and the organization’s strategy
-Responsible for the medical aspect of the program deliveries, with a strong focus on the qualitative aspect
-Supervise the pharmacies operations quality (consumptions, orders & inventory)

The participating in MdM’s operational & advocacy strategy development and implementation

-Participate to the development and implementation of MdM’s operational strategy in Syria, consolidating the health projects already in place and ensuring the delivery of quality program
-Participate to the advocacy strategy by providing data and analysis of health situation necessary for evidence based advocacy
-Participate to communication operations run by the organization under general coordinator request and delegation The representation and coordination:
-Represent the organisation towards donors, partners and other stakeholders
-Represent the organisation towards the Ministries of Health involved in Syria response

The technical capacity building:**
-Develop, update and validate medical standards, protocols and good practices
-Adapt the training module and tools to remote management
-Ensure the implementation of a global medical training plan for all staff, including the partners staff whenever it is possible

The team management:
-Be in charge of the technical supervision of approximately 20 medical supervisors or position assimilated
-Support your staff in their management duty: coordination meetings, individual interviews, etc.
-Be aware on the personal and professional evolution of each member of your staff, and its development within the mission: individual interviews, oral and written evaluations
-Propose relevant adaptation to the organisational chart of the mission and contribute to its implementation (job descriptions, etc.), in collaboration with your line-manager

The donor and internal reporting :
-Participate to the monthly situation report (SITREP) by providing relevant data related to your position
-Participate to donor reporting by providing relevant data related to your position
-Development of project concept notes and proposals with other members of the coordination team

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Status : Employee
Contract : Fixed-term contract
Duration : 12 months
Position based in Amman with frequent travel to Turkey, Lebanon and Iraqi Kurdistan
To be filled mid of july
2820 euros gross monthly salary on 13 months
Expatriation bonus (10% gross salary per month)

22.5 RTT (recovery days) per year
5 weeks of paid leaves per year.
Health insurance (60% covered by MdM and 40% by the employee)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Medical doctor, Nurse or Midwife with Public Health Masters or equivalent
At least 10 years of professional experience, including 3 years in similar position
Experience in hard negotiations with local authorities, partners and staff in complex situations
Experience in remote management and emergency response
Experience in supervision and team management
Excellent communication skills, listening and diplomacy skills
Organisational skills, rigor, ability to prioritise
Capacity to work in a volatile security context and able to apply strict security rules
Excellent training and coaching skills is required
Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
Languages: English fluent (oral, written)
French/Spanish/Arabic/Turkish an asset
