UNICEF is seeking an International In-house F2F Manager to oversee and lead the direction of UNICEF Indonesia’s In-house Face to Face fundraising programme. With an existing team of 8 fundraisers in Surabaya and a new office opening in Jakarta the consultant will facilitate a step change in the capacity and quality of the In-house team.

Position in the organization

This position sits within the Direct Marketing Acquisition Team. The Acquisition team are responsible for inspiring new supporters for UNICEF’s work for children from individual members of the public. We do so using a wide range of dialogue, broadcast and digital media. 

Purpose of Post

The role of the in-house F2F Manager  is to oversee and lead the direction of Unicef Indonesia’s In-house Face to Face fundraising programme. With an existing team of 8 fundraisers in Surabaya and a new office opening in Jakarta the individual will  facilitate a step change in the capacity and quality in the In-house team.

By working closely with the Acquisition Manager In Indonesia, Asia Pacific F2F Specialist in Bangkok and Global F2F Specialist in Geneva, the individual consultant will develop and implement an expansion strategy for the in-house operation. Once the strategy has been developed, the individual will facilitate its implementation.

The specific purpose of the post is:

  1. Review and revise the existing programme strategy including the delivery of KPIs and clear visions to ensure fundraising quality and the growth of the programme
  2. Review and revise the existing recruitment strategy and subsequent management of agency relationships and other external partners working on the programme.
  3. Conduct  regular analysis of the programme to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth. 
  4. Manage the performance of the programme including supporting the development of managers, team leaders and fundraisers ensuring effective coaching and training is in place for all staff.

As the programme grows, it is anticipated that the individual consultant will take on line-management responsibility for additional posts to support the activity.

Responsibilities

Planning & Strategy

  • Lead the planning process for expanding the in-house programme, taking responsibility for a clear roadmap and setting milestones and KPIs for the programme’s performance over the 11.5 month period.
  • Establish a vision for the programme’s fundraising culture which will then be implemented and regularly reviewed to ensure quality is at the heart of the activity.
  • Review  and re-forecast the programme’s performance where necessary.
  • Work with other members of the Acquisition team to deliver a testing plan for ways to improve performance once the programme is established.

Activities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of the in-house F2F programme including ensuring daily review of performance and direction around challenges and opportunities, ensuring delivery of key administrative actions including site booking, offering coaching and guidance to team leaders and ensuring coaching and guidance is in place for fundraisers, ensuring relevant data processes are in place and delivered effectively, engaging with regulatory bodies, and ensuring that teams are adequately staffed and resourced and leading on presentation and discussion of performance.
  • Responsible for the implementation of campaigns in response to humanitarian emergencies. This requires the Manager to be on call over some official holidays and weekends.

Relationships

  • Responsible for working closely with other members of the Direct Marketing team to develop a high-quality training and fundraiser engagement programme
  • Develop excellent relationship with UNICEF's Supporter Care and Supporter Data Management teams, ensuring that they have a good understanding of the objectives of the In-house programme
  • Work closely with other UNICEF teams including corporate, media, public affairs and trading teams to maximize DM opportunities.
  • Manage the day to day relationships with recruitment agencies to ensure teams are well-resourced and a strong working relationship is established.

Management

  • Manage Team Leaders during the launch of the programme
  • Manage recruitment of line reports as necessary

Other

  • This role involves the incumbent to work beyond the standard working hours as and when required.  This includes being on call over some bank holidays and weekends.
  • This role is based at the UNICEF office in Jakarta, but it is anticipated that the consultant  will also spend significant amount of time in the field.

Confidently planning and managing national dialogue fundraising campaigns, preferably national in-house street fundraising campaigns

Managing street fundraising teams including recruitment, coaching and motivating teams to deliver on robust targets

Managing expenditure budgets including budgeting and reforecasting

Experience of confident agency management with strategic direction, setting of clear objectives and parameters of responsibility
