Our Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our Syria Response Office’s dedicated Compliance team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor degree in a relevant field and an experience working in the compliance/audit sector preferably in the humanitarian context.

Additional useful skills include: leadership skills, advanced working knowledge of MS office package, good communication and interpersonal skills, very good knowledge of English.

Position Description:

As a humanitarian organization working in a challenging operational environment it is of great importance to work in compliance with governmental rules and regulations, donor regulations and contracts as well as NRC own rules in order for NRC to maintain its position as a trustworthy partner for all external stakeholders and to ensure highest quality programming reaches the intended beneficiaries. The Compliance function plays a significant part in assessing and qualifying procedures and systems which include compliance checks and participation or lead in investigations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·       Under the guidance of the Head of Support and for 6 months’ duration, manage a Documentation Project and follow up process.

·       Effectively capture electronic and paper documents of different formats in a central repository.

·       Storing information in an organized manner, with an ability to easily retrieve relevant document information, and archive historical data.

·       Ability to exchange information between documents, as well as consolidate data in multiple documents for reporting and analysis purposes to provide better visibility across the project.

·       Conduct vouching checks for transactions in collaboration with relevant staff

·       Assisting in Monitoring compliance in the implementation of NRC’s policies, procedures and controls through regular spot checks, field visits and in-depth reviews.

·       Assisting in developing standard filing and referencing system which ensures that complete documentation exists for all transactions.

·       Assisting in monitoring action plans to implement recommendations made in internal and external audits and evaluations.

·       Assisting in Supporting programme and finance teams to prepare for audits.

·       Ensure that annual self-assessment forms are correctly filled

·       Ensure with the collaboration of relevant staff that the standard filing and referencing system is implemented for each transaction through vouching checks.
