Background:

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) / Danish Demining Group (DDG) are an international humanitarian organization implementing relief and development activities in more than 30 countries. DRC/DDG is a non-governmental, non-political and non-religious organization and, in DRC/DDG, people’s right to a life with dignity is central to all that we do. DRC/DDG has been operating in Myanmar since 2009, responding to humanitarian needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and conflict-affected populations by providing shelter, NFIs, livelihood support, humanitarian mine action and community assistance. The DRC / DDG programme is rooted in a strong protection outreach that includes protection monitoring, tailor-made assistance and programmatic integration through humanitarian mine action (HMA) including provision of Mine Risk Education (MRE) and Non-Technical Survey (NTS) in the most contaminated and conflict-prone areas of Myanmar.

To support and strengthen the DRC / DDG programme in Myanmar we are looking for highly motivated and capable candidates to fill the position of

Human Resources Officer (1 position)

Duty Station:             Yangon

Reporting to:              Human Resources Manager

The overall purpose of this position is to ensure an effective and efficient Human Resources administrative function of DRC/DDG Myanmar.

Specific duties and responsibilities

The duties include; but are not limited to the following responsibilities:

 

  • Supporting and coordinating overall recruitment and selection process (including advertisement of vacancies, short-listing candidates, interviews, written tests, confirm salary level, issuing offers and Employment contracts) as per DRC’s standard of Human Resources policy and procedure.
  • Coordinating and scheduling of staff induction for all new staff.
  • Providing awareness on Human Resources policies and procedures to the staff through daily communications, trainings, workshops, etc.
  • Administration of staff’s performance and development process.
  • Supervision of administration of staff’s health insurance benefits.
  • Coordination of HR functions between Yangon and Field Offices.
  • To maintain and report employee statistical data, as requested.
  • Assisting HR Manager in providing necessary documentation to auditors.
  • To ensure an effective and secure filing system for personnel information; including but not limited to contract, Job Description, Performance and Development, and disciplinary actions.
  • In collaboration with HR Manager, keeping an updated information on Myanmar’s labor law and to continuously analyse DRC/DDG’s compliance to Myanmar’s labor law.
  • Any other task as assigned by line manager

Knowledge and Experience

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience with an international development organization preferred.
  • Fluency in English
  • Degree in HR Management is an advantage
